Preliminary expansion work continues…
Preliminary stadium expansion work is ongoing at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field and will continue throughout the summer. That work continues.
IHL approves Davis Wade Stadium expansion plan
The Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning Board of Trustees approved Mississippi State University’s request to proceed with expansion plans to Davis Wade Stadium.
The project will include an addition to the north end zone as well as improvements to the west concourse of DWS. The north end zone addition will consist of bowling in the end and increasing capacity by roughly 6,000. The area would also include loge seating and suites.
The expansion project is expected to break ground following the conclusion of the 2012 regular football season.
“We are moving forward and hopefully we can put it out for bid this summer, get it rewarded and get going,” Stricklin said. “When we start the stadium expansion later this year, that’s just another sign that this is something we care deeply about. I’ve said it before, facilities say a lot about you.”
