Bo Hemphill

James V. “Bo” Hemphill  joined the Mississippi State University Foundation staff in 2000. He served in a variety of fundraising roles including Director of Development for the College of Education and Director of Development for the College of Business. In 2007, he served as Executive Director of Major Gifts. In this role he led University fundraising efforts through the final stages of the $400 million State of the Future Campaign and the $100 million StatePride initiative.

In 2010, Hemphill made the transition to athletic fundraising to serve as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development. He managed major gift development and the MSU Athletic Facility Initiative which included over $175 million in facility expansion and renovation projects. These projects include the Seal Family Football Complex, Davis Wade Stadium North End Zone project, and the rebuild of historic Dudy Noble Field.

In 2017, Hemphill became Deputy Athletic Director for Development where he helps manage private revenue generation for the Mississippi State University Athletic Department and the Bulldog Club, Inc. Additionally, he oversees men’s basketball and serves on the senior leadership team for the MSU Athletic Department.
